Brigitta Parish's Poem

They served because they had to back then ,
They left as boys , came back as men.
America called them away from family's their place of birth
To fight for freedom and democracy in a unknown place of this earth.
They found brothers like now others
Carried them out of harms way , only sadly to see that some had to stay
There life was given for this our land and the ones that survived
still hold their hands.
Families grew apart because of this and children to this days there fathers miss.
And when they came home , no recognition was given for what they had done
This there country gave them none
Our troops again fight in a different war today
weas a country have learned from our past mistakes we made back then
We feel patriotism now for our fighting men

We greet them with respect , we bow our heads when there brothers fall
We do that for you , we do it for all
So maybe their fighting that brought on so much pain
finally was not in vain
So men who fought in Vietnam , be proud for what you've done !

I say to my own soldier and all of you , whom are brothers forever
Welcome home ,
will I forget to say that with all my heart
Never!!!!!!!!
