Richard, you say you tried going to Phu Loi but couldn't. What was the problem? The Vietnamese wouldn't let you access the area?

Aloha form Hawaii! Happy Thanksgiving to all my AVEL brothers and their families. I concur with Pete's message. Lots to be thankful for, including the great bond we all share together. Stay safe during this holiday season.

I hope everyone was able to make it to a nice Memorial Service today. Jacksonville, Florida does a very nice Memorial Service at the Duval County Memorial Wall. The keynote speaker was Admiral William Moran Vice Chief of Naval Operations. During the ceremony they gave a special shout out to the Vietnam Veterans which I thought was a very nice touch. Looking forward to seeing everybody in Charleston.

That is very interesting Flying Tiger Airlines. Would love to hear her story. Both of you should come to the gathering in Charleston this October details are on Reunion 2017. A good friend of mine Rod Chennault is the grandson of General Chennault who commanded the Flying Tigers in China.

How many of you flew to and/or from Vietnam on Flying Tiger Airlines? I know I did - McChord Air Force Base (Ft. Lewis) to Anchorage, to Japan, to Cam Ranh Bay. Same route home the first time.

Tonight I had a delightful conversation with Andee Reingold Wright, a flight attendant who flew these flights on Flying Tiger from 1967 throughout the war including a flight of refugees in 1975.
