Agent Orange
This site is designed to assist you in obtaining Agent Orange benefits.

Agent Orange can very well effect all of the AVEL soldiers.  Having served in Vietnam between 1962 and 1971 each of you might suffer from one of the many Agent Orange related symptoms and effects.  Many of the AVEL soldiers flew on missions in Vietnam and Cambodia where the LZ was sprayed by Agent Orange.  AVEL soldiers worked on dust covered choppers and the dust covered avionics boxes were on the work benches.

VA’s policy is that if you were in Vietnam one day, you can claim that any and all of the illnesses on the list was caused by Agent Orange  and therefore you are entitled to VA medical services and monetary compensation.

If you have any of the symptoms listed in the sites shown below, go to VA for medical attention and file for compensation.  I had my civilian MD check for prostate cancer.  I had cancer and I started treatment.  I also filed for VA compensation and payment started retroactive to the filing date…..

Here are a few sites that have information on Agent Orange.  There are many more…..

Please feel free to log your Agent Orange related concerns on this site and encourage everyone to seek VA medical attention. If you have a problem in getting benefits maybe some of us can help you.

Thanks for your service.

AVEL Central 70-71

Jerry That sounds like a bunch of BULL!!! I wouldn't pay it and send the bill to your congressman I ask him to press VA to cover the total cost.....We are worth more than that!

Just got my Agent Orange Evaluation back and among other things it says I am a well developed, well nourished white male who was ambulatory, alert and cooperative. Obviously had no records of my condition at Avel Central in 1971-1972.

After the first reunion when everyone said if you have a problem contact the VA. So in Aug. 2010 I sent them the info on my diabetes. Just yesterday I recived a letter from the VA saying the service connection has been granted. It took them over a year to look at every thing and approve my disablty, so hang in there it just takes time.

Here is another site that might be of help. http://www.banderasnews.com/1004/vl-davidlord05.htm

If you have a Doctor that says that you have one of these problems then get a VA appointment after you file for compensation.... You can file at any VA facility. Most county courthouses have a part time VA assistance officer that will assist you in preparing your claim... And always keep you Senator or Rep involved. If you have not heard from the VA in 45 days send copies to Your Senator or Rep OR BOTH and demand help....Good Luck

Had my first appointment with the VA this morning. Had a few flashbacks to basic training but all in all it was a painless positive experience and I am on record and next thursday I have an appointment with a VA Doctor and will see what happens from there.

I've had this condition, called Meneirs disease, for over 30 plus years.I average at least 2 bouts a month and there's no cure.It got worse since I aged..don't know if it relates 2 agent orange or not...VA says not recognized condition 2 agent orange ,but i question that..I sent every special and general order, from my 201 file..air medals, crewmans badge, dates and times,I flew,1967-69,my bronze star.I flew gunner during Dak To battle..during that period, more agent orange was in central highlands, than rest of country..and VA says..NOPE!!!..I look up on internet and guys in different states got 60-100%..I'm in Virginia..so what gives???..guess all the proof i sent wasn't good enough
