Teague, Rich (SSG)
HHC, 11th Combat Aviation Bn., Phu Loi
richteague@digitalpath.net
7380 Quiet Dr.
Anderson, CA, 96007
MOS: 35P40
Comments: I was transferred to Vietnam, from Germany where I was a Sgt. E-5, in charge of the radio operators and radio repair. I was assigned to HHC 11th Combat Avn Bn, 12th Avn Gp, 1st Avn Bde in Phu Loi as their Communication Chief, My responsibility was to supervise the Commo Center.

In Feb. 1969 my Superior, Lt. Smith, told me that I was being considered for a field promotion to 2nd Lt. I thanked him, but declined the promotion since my active duty time was up in just a couple of months. The following month, I was told that I was being promoted to SSG. E-6, in MOS 35P40, Avionics Maint. Supervisor. This is not the MOS that I was trained for, but what else is new... Hey, that was the Army. What can I say!

The 11th Combat Avn Bn consisted of (4) helicopter companies, 128th AHC (Phu Loi), 162nd AHC (Phuc Vinh), 173rd AHC (Lai Khe) and the 213th ASHC (Phu Loi).

It has been 52 years since I have seen any of the guys that I served with and I would love to see them again, but I don't even know where to start. It looks like you have a fantastic network and the ability to have regular reunions. I am thrilled for you guys.. Good Job!
